EROS is interested in investing in technology commercialisation, including by start-up businesses, that offers real growth opportunities and is currently establishing a fund and a database of potential investors for this purpose. The process of committing funding to each project is flexible and involves developing an evaluating proposals and understanding of the objectives and expectations of the stakeholders and structuring solutions that fairly reflect and compensate the respective risks and rewards for each party.

Investment Criteria for Technology Commercialisation

EROS Capital welcomes investment proposals which meet the following criteria:

• The proposed technology or business must be technically understandable and relevant to other EROS investments. Examples might include sawmilling, wood or biomass business based technology, building systems, contain a China market element, or innovative tourism initiatives. 
• The technology or business must be Australasian based, preferably with global potential and a robust value proposition. The opportunity must demonstrate opportunity for growth that meets criteria.
• Unless there are specific circumstances, EROS Capital would seek to secure a proprietary and controlling interest in the technology or business, to establish a sound business model, from the outset.
• The technology or business must be proven technically.
• There must be quality and depth in the technical team and assurance of ongoing access to the necessary technology.
• The technology or business must be unique, or have a defensible market value proposition with either significant trade secrets, with first mover advantage, or protectable IP.
• Where appropriate, there must be a clear exit strategy.

EROS Capital Investment Process: EROS operates a swift and transparent investment process. The EROS Management team will screen a proposal and give definitive feedback, in principle, with minimum delay. Where a proposal meets criteria, due diligence will also be undertaken quickly and efficiently. If a recommendation to proceed is reached following due diligence, the project will be referred to the board of EROS Capital, which meets monthly.
